monday january 23rd-

the first aspect of the day and week occurs at 3:15am when mercury in capricorn trines stationary mars in virgo (set to go retrograde later today).  with the mind in alignment with the will we are supported in taking action, speaking our Truth and focusing on reality and the here and now.  this is the last aspect mars makes before turning retrograde- which bodes well for his journey backwards/inwards.  the last aspect made before a planet stations gives insight into what is to come- so focus on delegating, dealing and focusing on what is (as opposed to only focusing on what can be) over the coming couple of months.

at 9:51am the sun in aquarius semisextiles chiron in pisces, aligning the conscious self and ego with the wounded healer.  awareness of our wounds, old pain and fears of rejections can arise today.  if we can take it a step further we can see how things that originated in the distant past still impact us today- and then we can make conscious choices to deal and heal- and ultimately let go.  whatever comes up today is an opportunity to look deeper than the surface and reclaim parts of ourselves- which will lead us back to wholeness.

the only other celestial shift of the day is mars' station retrograde at 4:54pm.  mars turns retrograde (from our perspective on earth) at 23'05 virgo and he will stay retrograde until april 14th when he goes direct again at 3'41 virgo.  this span of virgo is going to be under intense focus over the coming months- so look at your natal chart and see what gets activated (also read your weekly horoscopes for this week).  with mars retrograde we are supported in looking inward and focusing our intense analysis and critical capacity (virgo) on ourselves.  we are being asked to look at how we work with mars in our chart.  mars symbolizes the masculine, our will, drive, energy, anger, initiative and impulse to action.  wherever mars is retrograding in your natal chart is an area of focus for excavation and introspection.  the coming months are not a time to take definitive action- they are a time to get very clear on what is right or not right within and then shift the dynamic so that we can find a better balance that then expresses itself outward.

 

tuesday january 24th-

the day starts off with the sun in aquarius parallel pluto in capricorn, energetically aligning the conscious self and ego with the lord of the underworld.  this is powerful, intense alignment.  we are supported in looking at the shadow, dealing with the underworld energies in our lives and ultimately transforming, dying and being reborn anew.  the shadow dynamics of sun/pluto can reveal power/control dynamics with others where we are acting out of ego rather than our Higher Selves.  we are better off if we can stay out of ego games and focus on transformation and letting go of what no longer serves us.

at 3:05am uranus cojoins ceres in early aries, aligning the great awakener and rebel with the asteroid goddess governing nurturing, mothering and caretaking.  these two principles are quite opposite of each other- uranus likes space and freedom, while ceres loves to nurture and care for others.  yet they both align in the very independent sign of aries- helping us to find new ways of relating to others, particularly family or any other partnerships that have the tendency to get codependent.  we are supported in setting ourselves free from unhealthy relationship dynamics- and as such we let others be free to choose this for themselves.  a new paradigm of relating- family, romantic, friendship and more- is being born, but we have to let go of the past in order to fully embrace the new.

the only other aspect today occurs at 4:08pm when venus in pisces squares the nodes at sagittarius and gemini (north and south respectively).  with the goddess of Love and beauty square the nodes of destiny and karma we can find ourselves at a crossroads so-to-speak where we are given an opportunity to release the past in karmic relationships so that we can shift the dynamic into something new.  this can result in transformation of relationship structures or it can result it releasing something fully/letting go.  either way we are being asked to evolve in relationships right now- particularly when it comes to letting go of the tendency to merge in unhealthy ways, idealize and not see reality, or be overly compassionate/understanding when it would serve all involved to embody healthy boundaries and say no.  codependent relationships are definitely up right now.  the more unhealthy the dynamic the more intense it will be.  if you find yourself in the midst of karmic consequences from the past- align with your integrity and impeccability and deal with it now.

 

wednesday january 25th-

the only major aspect today occurs at 7:03pm when venus in pisces sesquiquadrates saturn  at the last degree of libra.  this past sunday venus aspected saturn by declination and today by degree.  the last several days definitely have had a karmic undertone to them- particularly as it pertains to relationships and finances.  there is a need today to look at the reality of situations- to pull the rose colored glasses off and really see reality in all its harmony AND its dissonance.  venus in pisces has the tendency to only want to see what is beautiful and ideal, yet saturn knows that there is always a shadow to every dynamic, person, relationship, etc...  saturn is teaching us about real relationships and he is also teaching us about establishing healthy boundaries and balance of give and take, self and other.  today there can be a need to attend to what is, rather than what can be, in relationships and finances.  restructuring may be necessary, or alternatively letting something/someone go entirely may be what our evolutionary path requires.  either way today is a day to deal with reality- avoiding it or putting it off will only prolong the inevitable!

 

thursday january 26th-

the day starts off with mercury in capricorn semisquare the north node in sagittarius at 1:40am and mercury parallel the north node at 3:34am- making for a super aspect between the conscious mind and intellect and our path of growth and destiny.  communication is key today- insights and information that comes in can alter our path.  since these aspects occur in the early morning hours pay attention to your dreams upon waking for important messages from the unconscious.  ultimately our path is about growth, liberation and letting go of the past (north node in sadge)- so we need to check in and make sure any limiting beliefs or a need for proof that is tangible (mercury in capricorn) does not get in the way of growth.

the only other aspect today occurs at 3:36pm when saturn at the last degree of libra semisextiles juno at the last degree of scorpio.  the harmonious connection between the planet of commitment, structure and stability and the asteroid goddess of partnership, commitment and marriage is supportive for our most significant one-to-one connections.  we are better able to be clear about our needs and our responsibilities in relationship- and from this place we can find grounding and stability in our connections with others.

 

friday january 27th-

all the early morning aspects involve mercury- so it's definitely a communicative kind of day today!  mercury at the last degree of capricorn squares saturn at the last degree of libra at 1:20am, creating tension and friction between the mind and intellect and the planet of discipline, karma and reality.  saturn rules mercury right now (mercury is in saturn's sign) so there is an affinity, yet the aspect is tense so it can highlight any disparity in our reality right now.  the mind wants concrete proof and logical answer right now.  we are focused on what is, rather than what can be, and at times that can be depressing as we acknowledge all that is not working (stuff we may have been avoiding acknowledging for a while now).  yet despite our focus it may be hard to get our message across to others.  if we feel inhibition or limitation in communication right now- we may need to take a breather, get clear and come back later.  watch out for the tendency to be judgmental- analysis and seeing reality is required, but we don't need to judge what is.

then at 2:50am mercury at 29 capricorn sextiles juno at 29 scorpio- aligning the mind and intellect with the asteroid goddess of partnership and commitment.  this is a supportive aspect in getting clear on our needs in partnership and expressing those needs to significant others.  then at 6:21am mercury semisextiles neptune at 29 aquarius, supporting our intuition and compassionate nature when it comes to communication and thinking.  all of the above aspects involve the 29th degree of the various signs- pointing to a process of completion, culmination and endings so that we can move forward and grow.  saturn and neptune are currently in trine aspect, helping us to find balance between the material and the spiritual, the mundane and the esoteric.  the mind can limit us if we use it without the balance of the heart.  yet without wisdom, Love can get out of balance two.  'wisdom tells me i am nothing, Love tells me i am everything, and in between the two my life flows.'  right now we need to find the balance between these two and communicate them to others in our lives.  all of the above aspects occur in the early morning hours- so pay attention to your dreams upon waking for important messages from the unconscious.

then at 10:12am mercury moves out of capricorn and into aquarius, shifting the conscious mind and intellect from a more practical, grounded, realistic perspective to an expansive, eccentric and changeable perspective.  mercury in aquarius is the visionary- so over the coming weeks are are supported in connecting to our vision, hopes, dreams and to our community.

the only other aspects today involve venus in pisces- she parallels ceres in aries at 11:16am and contraparallels retrograde mars in virgo at 8:42pm.  the alignment of the goddess of Love and beauty with the mother asteroid helps us find balance in our feminine expression of self.  with venus in the last sign of the zodiac (pisces) and ceres in the first (aries) we can find balance between the Light and dark aspects of the feminine today- within and without.  with venus' energetic opposition to mars there is a polarizing between the feminine and the masculine.  positively this can be very creative, passionate and dynamic- but there can also be an oppositional energy between the male and female (in relationships and within ourselves).  venus is in pisces and mars is in virgo and these signs oppose one another in the zodiac.  there is a need to find balance between the details (virgo) and the bigger picture (pisces), between the mundane and the sacred.

 

saturday january 28th-

there is a lot going on astrologically today!  the day starts off with the sun in aquarius sesquiquadrate to retrograde mars in virgo at 4:05am- activating an impulsive, fiesty and perhaps argumentative nature.  with the ego in tense aspect to the will we need to be sure we stay out of power/control dynamics with others.  positively this aspect can incite us to take action, express our anger and say no!  but on the shadow side we can find we are shooting from the hip and/or speaking without thinking- and there can be consequences to any brash actions.

then at 4:37am venus in pisces semisquares jupiter in taurus- creating tension between the greater benefics.  positively we can feel an enhanced sense of enjoyment of life, desire to indulge, socialize and connect.  on the shadow side though there can be a tendency to laziness, overindulgence, and addiction to the good things in life- with a desire to avoid the shadow/reality.  we need to find a balancing point between good things and too much of a good thing right now ;)

at 6:59am neptune at the last degree of aquarius squares juno at the last degree of scoprio- bringing up confusion, delusion and even perhaps deception in committed relationships and partnerships.  neptune tends to idealize, glamorize and put people on pedestals.  anything put on a pedestal will eventually fall off- and right now there can be the stark reality of relationships staring us in our face.  there is a need to see what is, not just what can be.  with the 29th degree highlighted there is a completion/ending phase happening right now in relationships- particularly ones that started off in fantasy/addiction and/or a trance-like nature.  we need to really look at what IS right now- although with this square the tendency will be to want to avoid reality and/or deny it.  neptune is about to move into pisces- so it is time to release the delusions of the past, some of which started about 14 years ago when neptune first entered into aquarius.  we may even find things that began back then are completing themselves now.  it's time to let go.  all of the above aspects occur in the early morning hours- so pay attention to your dreams upon waking for important messages from the unconscious.

then at 10:26am mercury in aquarius sextiles uranus in aries- aligning the conscious mind and intellect with the great awakener!  insights, inutitive hits and bolt out of the blue awareness are possible now!  conversation and communication that opens us up to the possibilities are supported today.  stay open to the avant garde, eccentric and the new.  evolution is calling!

at 11:19am retrograde mars in virgo contraparallels ceres in aries- creating an energetic opposition between the will and drive and the asteroid goddess of mothering and nurturing.  in relationships that are based on caretaking we can find an anger or aggressiveness that arises.  positively we need to take action, express anger and assert boundaries- but things can get fiesty, conflictual or even violent if we misuse our mars energy right now.  mars is retrograde so we are supported in looking within at where an imbalance in our caretaking relationships lies- and then focus on shifting the inner dynamic so that the outer one can follow.

then at 11:28am the sun in aquarius semisextiles pluto in capricorn- harmoniously aligning the conscious self and ego with the lord of the underworld.  the week began with a sun/pluto aspect by declination (on tuesday the 24th) and the week ends with a sun/pluto aspect by degree- making the entire week colored by a super aspect between the ego and the Higher will/transformer.  positively we can look at and deal with the shadow today.  we are supported in penetrating beyond the facade and seeing the Truth.  transformation, regeneration and/or letting go are the order of the day!

the day ends with mercury in aquarius square to jupiter in taurus at 8:08pm.  with the mind in tense aspect with the planet of expansion and abundance we can find our communication is heightened and perhaps even overdone!  a desire to connect and share is high- but there can be too much mental chatter- a lot of talking and not enough listening.  ideas can come- but we need to be sure they are not too grandiose or over the top.  the tendency right now is to dream big- but not keep things in check with healthy limitation and grounding.  positively we can find our minds opened to the possibilities- we just need to stay connected to reality so we can realize them.

 

sunday january 29th-

the day starts off with juno, the asteroid goddess of partnership and commitment, moving out of scorpio and into sagittarius at 6:13am.  this is a shift from water to fire, Soul to Spirit, merging to individuality, possession to freedom.  with juno in sadge our needs in relationship involve freedom, independence, travel, exploration, learning and more!  sadge is the wild horse that runs free- in our relationships if we feel limited or reigned in in any way then juno will let us know it's not working for us.  partnerships that are based on spiritual interests and mystical studies can expand and grow even more now.

then at 9:12am mercury in aquarius sextiles ceres in aries- helping us to communicate our needs for nurturing and caretaking.  our words have a greater ability to support others- with a balance of detachment/independence (aquarius and aries) and compassion/caring (ceres).  communicating our needs as we explore a new paradigm of relating in all of our various relationships is supported today.

mercury in aquarius semisextiles chiron in pisces at 1:17pm, helping us to speak our mind and heart in balanced, compassionate ways.  healing can come through communicating today.  as we open our minds to re-image our pain and suffering of the past we can expand our awareness and consciousness.

the day and week ends with venus in pisces parallel chiron in pisces at 7:57pm- energetically aligning the goddess of Love and beauty with the wounded healer.  positively we can experience deep healing in our relationships with others- romantic/sexual, financial and otherwise.  yet we can also experience our deepest wounding as it is mirrored to us by others.  the wounded healer activates our wounds so that we can gain awareness of old pain and then choose to take conscious steps to heal it.  relationships are definitely a focus this week- so having the week end with venus/chiron is a potent reminder that healing and wounding are two sides of the same coin.
